NOMOS Glashütte marks Handelsblatt’s 80th with a focused take on its Club Sport neomatik Worldtimer, swapping five cities for stock tickers in warm orange: NYSE, LSE, FWB, HKEX, TSE. It is a neat cue for those who live by opening bells yet still want a watch that whispers rather than shouts.
The worldtime display is fully integrated in the in-house automatic DUW 3202, a 4.8 mm slim caliber that keeps the 40 mm steel case to 9.9 mm in height. For an automatic worldtimer, that is genuinely svelte. A sapphire back shows the movement’s clean Glashütte manners, while the case side adds a practical note: a red warning ring on the crown reminds you to screw it down. Secured, the watch is water resistant to 10 atm.
Legibility follows function. The wide hands, numerals, and indexes are thickly coated with Superluminova and glow blue. The 24-hour home time carries a two-tone ring, with a fine dividing line that nods to newspaper layout. An orange line above 12 highlights the chosen time zone, and an orange scale at the periphery helps the head do quick arithmetic when the body is jet-lagged.
This edition keeps the Club Sport’s easygoing stance but trims the narrative to its users: traders and travelers who need orientation when London sleeps and Tokyo stirs. The case back engraving reads “Edition Handelsblatt”, a quiet signature rather than a billboard. Since its 2025 debut, the model line has drawn design praise, including the iF Design Award 2026 and Red Dot: Best of the Best 2026.
Purists might ask if exchange codes age faster than cities. Perhaps. Yet the underlying construction has the kind of mechanical honesty that outlasts graphics. Slim architecture, integrated complication, and clear time telling are the real story. The orange is just the bookmark.
