Frederique Constant unveils the first hand-wound watch in its Classics Moneta line at Geneva Watch Days, trading battery calm for the quiet ritual of winding. It is a modest gesture with satisfying consequence.
The movement, developed with La Joux-Perret, sits under a sapphire back, its bridges dressed in Côtes de Genève and storing a 63-hour reserve. No theatrics, just clean mechanics you can see and trust.
Up front, a 38.5 mm case frames a salmon-coloured gradient dial encircled by the brand’s fluted flange. Polished markers and Dauphine hands keep the language of the 1950s intact. It whispers rather than shouts, which suits the Moneta name.
This limited edition counts 999 pieces, each engraved ‘ONE OF 999’. The watch is paired with a black alligator strap, an honest finishing touch for a dress watch that prefers proportion over noise.
