Reverso Stories opens in Miami – a quiet salute to nine decades of design

Jaeger-LeCoultre brings The Reverso Stories to the Miami Design District, an immersive pop-up open to the public from 21 to 31 May 2026 at Sweet Bird North, 95 NE 40th St. It is a measured celebration of a shape born in Art Deco, still speaking clearly after nine decades.

The headline news is a one-of-a-kind curation that culminates in fresh Reverso debuts under the Or Deco banner. Five novelties appear in Miami: three cocktail-inflected executions set with 46 coloured gemstones each – sapphire, emerald, and ruby – a monochrome 18K white gold piece, and a smaller unisex size. All arrive on Milanese bracelets, gliding between sporty and elegant with that familiar Reverso nonchalance.

For the theatrically inclined, the Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 Pegasus in 18K pink gold receives more than 180 hours of relief engraving. The front dial layers architecture with hand-filled blue lacquer clouds, while the reverse lays bare a skeletonised Duoface movement and its Gyrotourbillon. It is craft meeting kinematics, with finishes in thoughtful contrast.

Beyond the swivelling icon, the Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual returns in platinum with a new case, bracelet, and grey dial. Limited to 20 numbered pieces, it pairs the twin-gear-train concept with a multi-axis tourbillon in Calibre 388. Precision, here, is not shouted. It hums.

The exhibition is framed as four chapters – Story of an Icon, Design, Innovation, and Craftsmanship – spanning archival pieces, contemporary high jewellery, miniature painting, and the four-dial Reverso Hybris Mechanica Calibre 185. A live perlage demonstration lifts the loupe on a usually hidden art. Made of Makers adds a gentle tilt of the hat to other disciplines: Olivecoat’s archive-inspired webcomic, Dr. Yiyun Kang’s Origin 3D video sculpture, and Chef Nina Métayer’s 1931 Café creations, including the Miami-only Splendeur Tropicale.

Practicalities matter. The pop-up runs Mon-Sat 11am-8pm, Sun 12pm-6pm, with complimentary access and guided tours of about 30 minutes. Booking is available online or on arrival, subject to availability.

Looking ahead, before the new boutique opens in summer 2026, The Salon at The Moore Miami – 4040 NE 2nd Avenue, 2nd floor – welcomes clients and walk-ins Mon-Sat 11am-7pm, Sun 12pm-6pm. It is a quiet room for unhurried conversations and the sort of handling that tells you more than any press line ever will. A few familiar faces attended opening night, but the star remains the rectangle that still knows how to turn a wrist – and a head – with grace.
