Oris returns to its roots with a new restoration film, turning its attention to a well-loved Leonhard Euler Limited Edition from 2007 – a Swiss tribute marking the 300th anniversary of the great mathematician’s birth.
The dial leaned into Euler’s magic squares – a forerunner to Sudoku – and those numerals were drawn from his handwriting. A neat mind game, translated into wrist form.
When this example came back for service, it arrived as many good watches do – worn with purpose, asking to be understood. The Oris Service Division treated it like a theorem: define the problem, test the variables, and work toward the only result that matters – mechanical integrity restored while character remains.
The film is less nostalgia than craft. Swiss Made, here, reads as method rather than label: diagnose carefully, respect the original idea, and return the watch as itself. Limited should mean limited by thought, not by marketing.
As for the ending, it keeps its secret. Could they solve the puzzle? The answer sits in the film. The process, though, already speaks clearly – minds over matter, hands steady on the bench.
