Moser Endeavour Flyback Chronograph Dual Time Date - three complications, one calm dial

H. Moser & Cie. unveils the Endeavour Flyback Chronograph Dual Time Date, a watch that hides its brainy side under an exceptionally quiet dial. Three useful complications – flyback chronograph, second time zone, and date – are folded into a layout that keeps the eye at ease and the hands busy.

The display is all about centrality. No subdials, no boxed text, no fuss. A red central hand times the chronograph seconds, a rhodium-plated hand tallies elapsed minutes, and a fumé central disc carries the second time zone with a discreet white arrow. Around the edge, a clear minute track and a tachymeter on the flange lend the air of a scientific instrument rather than a billboard.

Under the dial sits the new hand-wound calibre HMC 730, developed with AGENHOR. It reinterprets the HMC 902 architecture with the automatic system removed to make space for Dual Time and a bidirectionally adjustable date. The chronograph is column wheel controlled, uses a horizontal clutch with a smooth wheel and micro-teeth to avoid start-up jitters, and employs a retrograde minute driven by a snail cam for crisp, immediate jumps. Two barrels provide a 72-hour reserve, indicated on the movement side to keep the dial pristine.

The case is stainless steel, 42.0 mm by 13.2 mm, with pushers at 10 and 2 o’clock and a screw-down crown at 4 o’clock engraved with an “M”. Water resistance is 3 ATM. The dial shown is Turquoise fumé with a Blackor fumé central disc, sunburst finish, and luminous leaf hands. It is paired with a grey alligator strap with nubuck finish. The whole package reads modern, but not loud. Think instrument polished by restraint.

What stands out is intent. By centralizing every indication, Moser and AGENHOR make speed, distance, local time, and home time legible at a glance. The mechanics are sophisticated, the reading is simple. Travel, time a split in the taxi queue, set the date forwards or backwards if you must – and enjoy the rare feeling that nothing is competing for your attention.
