Trilobe broadens its Trente-Deux collection with quiet confidence: new silver and green dials join the existing blue and grey, delivered on a steel bracelet, while a rose gold case arrives on a rubber strap for a more relaxed kind of refinement. The “Secret” edition also returns, inviting private astronomy on the wrist.
Seven years after the Maison’s founding, Trente-Deux marks a mature hinge point. It is a Parisian project in every sense – conceived, designed, developed, manufactured, crafted, decorated and assembled within the Trilobe Manufacture. The name is both address and long-held code name, a useful reminder that intention can be a design tool.
The rose gold with rubber pairing reveals a second temperament to the line – warmth without ceremony, daily wear without apology. The steel bracelet, meanwhile, extends the case with a clean, linear flow. Vertical grooves echo the satin-brushed surfaces; chamfers align; thickness keeps time with the case. On the wrist it aims to disappear, which is often the finest compliment a bracelet can receive.
A small smile hides on the reverse of the rubber strap: a floating duck, a discreet house mark and a nod to water resistance. No need to fish for it.
The case architecture is sculptural, built from seven individually finished elements. Three chamfered tiers, asymmetrical fins, and a beveled mid-case set the stage. The fluted bezel alternates polished ridges with matte grooves, a crisp play of light that rhymes with the specially developed crown.
Inside, the X-Nihilo calibre – Trilobe’s first in-house movement – powers the entire collection. Its central island opens the view to an elevated balance. The specification is classical where it matters: automatic winding, 42-hour power reserve, 4 Hz, 34 jewels, 218 components, 35.2 mm by 7 mm. The finishing leans on contrast and restraint: hand-executed graining across bridges and mainplate, black-polished screws, concave diamond-polished sinks around screws and rubies, and severe parallel satin lines on the bridges. Wheels receive circular satin-finishing; the rotor blends sunray and graining. Warm 5N tones set the mood without shouting.
Time is read the Trilobe way: three rotating rings for hours, minutes, seconds, co-planar with the dial, guided by fixed pointers and pad-printed numerals. The matte sunburst dial and a seconds wheel with azuré and Clou de Paris keep texture in quiet dialogue with the circular flange.
Proportions remain humane: 39.5 mm diameter, 10.15 mm thick, 46.18 mm lug-to-lug, sapphire crystals with multi-layer AR treatment, and 5 bar water resistance. Steel models are delivered on steel bracelet; rose gold on rubber, each with a matching double folding clasp. Warranty is 24 months.
The “Secret” is the intimate note in this orchestration – a bespoke star map fixed to a chosen date, time and place. Not loud, just lasting. Paris makes it. The wrist carries it.
