Lebois & Co opens The Atelier with two Small Seconds pieces that put the dial front and center. Working with Swiss specialist GT Cadrans, the brand explores texture with a classical Clous de Paris and a playful Stroopwafel, both shaped by serious craft.
The Clous de Paris dial leans on a centuries-old motif. Here it is diamond-cut so each micro pyramid catches light with restraint rather than glare, then given a warm rose-gold tone via galvanic treatment using a 24k gold solution. The result is calm, legible, quietly luxurious.
The Stroopwafel idea began in 2024 with a tin of Dutch biscuits and a question few brands would dare to ask. GT Cadrans answers it with an intricate laser-engraved lattice, finished in a caramel tone through the same 24k galvanic route. Under magnification the relief is surprisingly crisp. On the wrist, it reads as texture first, joke second.
Both dials sit in a 37.8 mm 316L steel case that keeps the proportions civil: 10.5 mm thick, 45.5 mm lug to lug, 20 mm lugs. A double-domed sapphire with internal AR preserves warmth without glare, while a screw-down display back and 5 ATM rating keep practicality in the conversation.
Inside is calibre LC-350, a Swiss automatic chronometer with COSC certification. It offers hours, minutes, small seconds, a 56-hour reserve and a 4 Hz beat. No theatrics, just the right cadence for a daily wearer that values intention over excess.
Production is not numbered but organized in planned runs, governed by the dial work rather than marketing appetite. Orders for the inaugural run open 27 July 2026 for 14 days. Estimated delivery is early 2027. Price is EUR 5,500 including VAT for either reference: 641.548 for Clous de Paris, 641.550 for Stroopwafel.
As first entries in The Atelier, these watches do what good dials should do: they tell you who made them, and how. One speaks fluent tradition. The other smiles, then keeps perfect time.
