Corum marks the 250th anniversary of the United States with a new Heritage Coin collection sold exclusively online from July 4, 2026. Fifty state designs, five pieces each. Simple math, deliberate scarcity, and a clear nod to a long American thread in Corum’s tapestry.
The Coin Watch story reaches back to 1964, when Corum turned a genuine American 20-dollar gold coin into a wristwatch. It was a witty idea made serious by craft, and it traveled on influential wrists. The new series leans into that history, swapping shout for quiet symbolism.
Each watch is dedicated to a state. Corum speaks of place, symbol, memory. That is the right register for the Coin line, where narrative often matters more than spec sheets. A coin on the wrist is less a complication than a conversation, and sometimes that is enough.
The edition totals 250 pieces, and the strategy is fully digital. Limiting access to the official e-shop will please some and puzzle others. In a world of velvet ropes, the cleanest line can be a browser tab. At least the rules are clear.
I like the intent: heritage without cosplay, commemoration without fireworks. The original Coin Watch balanced whimsy with respect for the object it enclosed. If these new pieces keep that balance, the result will feel honest. A wrist-sized history lesson, with better legibility than most textbooks.
Collectors will have choices to make. State first or story first. Either way, move promptly if one design speaks to you. With five per state, hesitation will be the most expensive option you do not see on the invoice.
