Armin Strom Tribute3 Au750 gold as structure, not garnish

Armin Strom pushes the Tribute into new territory with the Tribute3 Au750, letting 18K rose gold speak all the way through – case, dial, and deep within the calibre. Three solid gold bridges define the movement architecture, pairing finger bridges for barrel and balance with a three quarter bridge. It is not a veneer. It is structure.

On the dial, three guilloche voices play in counterpoint: a radiating soleil on the off centre dial, grain d orge on the small seconds, and clou de Paris across the rear three quarter bridge. Grey PVD Breguet style hands meet Roman numerals with quiet confidence. The palette is restrained, the intent clear.

Calibre AMW21 remains the brand at its most lucid. The reversed motor barrel winds via the arbor within a fixed drum – compact, efficient, and good for 100 hours. With 97 percent of components made in house, the movement reads as independence put to work rather than press release poetry.

The finishing carries real weight: mirror polished rose gold finger bridge over the visible barrel, hand bevels, frosting, circular graining, and black polished screws. The contrast of gold bridges against a grey PVD mainplate sharpens every edge of the geometry. As is Armin Strom practice, assembly happens twice – a discipline that tends to leave fewer excuses.

The case is 38 mm in 18K rose gold, 9.38 mm high, sapphire crystals front and back with anti reflective treatment, and 5 ATM water resistance. The movement measures 33.5 mm by 4.2 mm, ticks at 3.5 Hz with a variable inertia balance and flat hairspring, and counts 21 jewels across 135 components. The watch is delivered on grey nubuck with a rose gold pin buckle.

A note on character. Using gold as architecture, not accent, gives the Tribute3 Au750 a calm gravitas. The grey hands against gold may read subtler than some prefer, but the choice suits the watch s classical cadence. Eight pieces, CHF 69 000 – a short run for a focused idea.
