VOXEL debuts as an independent maison shaped by French design and Swiss engineering, uniting Thibault Luc and Bruno Herbet. Its first watch, the Meridion VX01-E, introduces a proprietary 12-24 hour jumping display that changes how the day is read at a glance.
The mechanism runs in 12-hour mode for the first part of the day, then at 1:00 PM it jumps to a 24-hour display. At 1:00 AM, it returns to 12-hour. The switch is instantaneous and removes AM-PM guesswork without a secondary hand or window. The dial identity evolves with contrasting index layouts, while Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 brings a crisp nocturnal signature. Clarity, without shouting.
At the core sits the Reactor module, a structural ring-plate that surrounds the movement at 360 degrees. It integrates the complication while stiffening the whole, and it is visible through a screwed caseback with double smoked glass. The architecture feels deliberate and mechanical in spirit, not decorative.
The case follows a decagonal sport-chic grammar. Ten flanks nod to the compass, giving direction to the form. VOXEL uses 904L stainless steel for the case and a grade 5 titanium caseback. Polished independent lugs, brushed and polished bezel, crisp chamfers, and mixed grained-sunburst dial finishes set a disciplined contrast. A domed sapphire with anti-reflective treatment crowns the volume.
Inside beats the Swiss automatic Newton P092 calibre paired with VOXEL’s in-house module. Dimensions are measured and wearable: 41.4 mm diameter, 12.2 mm thick including crystal, 45.5 mm lug to lug, 20 mm lug width. Power reserve is 44 hours, water resistance 120 m.
Two interchangeable configurations are offered: an Alcantara® strap in six colors for a tactile, contemporary look, or an integrated 904L steel bracelet for a more architectural line.
The founding trio of dials: Black Meridion with Charcoal Grey, Blue Meridion with Electric Blue, and Silver Meridion with Silver Star. All share the same architecture and the same jumping display.
The First Edition is limited and numbered: 120 pieces, 120 pieces, and 60 pieces, for a total of 300. Pre-order opens October 1, 2026 at www.voxelwatches.com. Pricing starts at €2,500 excluding VAT on Alcantara® and €2,850 excluding VAT on the integrated steel bracelet. Delivery Q1 2027 with free worldwide shipping.
Quiet verdict from the bench: the 12-24 jump at 1 is a neat real-world solution that keeps the dial clean and the mind untroubled. No extra subdial required, just a thoughtful switch when the sun passes its line. French creativity and Vallée de Joux execution meet with convincing mechanical honesty.
