Louis Erard extends its integrated 2340 with two dial variations that change the music without rewriting the score. Mauve brings a soft, luminous cadence with an oblong pill pattern; Forest adds structure and shadow through horizontal lines. Same architecture, new inflection.
The foundation remains clear and disciplined. A hybrid case and bracelet in satin-finished titanium with polished stainless steel accents create lightness and edge. The first integrated bracelet from the brand is a five-link design that flows cleanly from case to clasp, assembled from 92 components. Polished gadroons shape the flanks and quietly hide the junction. The result reads as one object, not parts in negotiation.
Proportions are tight. The case is 40 mm across, 41.50 mm lug to lug, and only 8.95 mm thick, helped by the 3.60 mm Sellita SW300-1 automatic. Louis Erard specifies élaboré grade with an openworked rotor bearing the black-lacquered symbol, running at 28,800 vph with an approximate 56-hour reserve. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides and a closed back keep the lines sharp; water resistance is 5 bar.
Detail is where character lives. Mauve layers a lacquered surface with its stamped oblong motif, a white minute track, a satin plate at 3 o’clock engraved with the LE logo, and rhodium-plated, diamond-cut indexes filled with SLN-C1 blue lume. The hands follow suit: rhodium-plated, satin on top, diamond-cut edges, SLN-C1 emission. Forest, by contrast, is deeper and more graphic, its horizontal lines giving the dial a measured rigor.
On the wrist, the construction speaks first. Titanium keeps the mass down; polished steel draws the outline from bezel to lugs, crown, caseback, and center links. The butterfly clasp closes the thought, with Torx screws at the attachment adding a tool-like honesty.
I appreciate the restraint. No theatrics, just a controlled shift of emphasis that alters the watch’s presence without disturbing its intent. The 2340 remains about construction and proportion; Mauve and Forest show how color and texture can move the needle with precision.
