Favre Leuba Deep Raider Power Reserve - mechanical depth in a 40mm diver

Favre Leuba extends its 2024 Deep Raider line with the Deep Raider Power Reserve, a 40mm stainless steel diver that adds a practical power reserve display while keeping the collection’s silhouette and 300-meter capability. At CHF 2’500, it reads as a considered evolution rather than noise.

The dial carries a crisp sunray finish that plays with light without shouting. At 9 o’clock, a small seconds sub-dial; at 6, the new power reserve – both snailed and framed in raised metal. A triple-figure date appears in a vertical arc at 3, likewise framed. Color options are white, black, green, blue, or ice blue.

The case measures 40mm by 12.59mm with a curved sapphire crystal and a screw-in, knurled crown. Tapered lugs and polished chamfers give the tool a touch of civility. A unidirectional bezel with a ceramic insert and a luminous pip at 12 handles timing duties. The integrated steel bracelet alternates brushed and polished surfaces, uses a butterfly clasp, and swaps out quickly without tools – any rubber strap from the Deep Raider Renaissance series will fit. The closed caseback bears a wave-motif medallion with the historic emblem and the inscription “Conquering Frontiers Since 1737.”

Inside is the automatic FL P01, based on the Sellita SW279-1, running at 28,800 vph with a 41-hour reserve. Functions are sensibly arranged: hours, minutes, small seconds, power reserve, and the triple-figure date. Not ostentation – simply clear, legible mechanics.

The model sits within a lineage dating to 1964’s Deep Blue, revived in 2024 as the Deep Raider Revival and joined by the modern Renaissance. In 2025 the Renaissance line added malachite and meteorite dials; in 2026, the Power Reserve brings functional breadth. As CEO Patrik Hoffmann notes, “Following the expansion of the Chief collection in 2025, 2026 marks a renewed focus on the Deep Raider… The Power Reserve strengthens the Deep Raider collection by adding mechanical depth while preserving the robustness and clarity that define the Deep Raider today.” A measured step, and the right one.
