Bomberg Edge Tech 6D – matte engineering, quietly executed

Bomberg Edge Tech - exposed engineering in a hexagon case

Bomberg‘s Edge Tech 6D is the restrained one in a loud world: a matte black, 43mm hexagon that swaps dial for structure and lets the mechanics speak.

The finish is not a costume. It is a deep, even matte over brushed, polished and chamfered planes, described as drawn from anti-glare treatments used on race-cockpit instruments and precision telemetry housings. The effect is practical first, aesthetic second – low reflection and low drama. It wears like a tool that learned manners.

Beneath the surface, the architecture is consistent across the Edge Tech line. There is no traditional dial and no hidden surfaces. The Swiss-made Caliber BB-77S runs at 28,800 vph, visible and framed by radiating bridges that hold the whole assembly together. What you see is what runs it, which is refreshing in a category that often hides behind decor.

Specifications land on the functional side: double-sided sapphire with anti-reflective coating, 100 m water resistance, an exhibition caseback, an integrated steel bracelet, plus a black silicone strap on quick-release pins. The 6D aims to be equally at home under a cuff and on a circuit. Whether readability in low light meets the tool brief will depend on execution, but the intent is clear.

Production is limited, with pre-sale open until shipping on July 15. Until then, a 15% reduction is applied at checkout. Retail after July 15 is listed at 2,595 CHF | EUR | USD. If the Edge Tech idea appeals, the 6D is the thoughtful entry point: engineering first, volume down.
