Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance Red - a measured jolt of color and control

Armin Strom gives its Mirrored Force Resonance a pulse of scarlet with a vivid red off-centre guilloché dial, cut on a traditional hand-operated rose engine lathe. Black azuré chapter rings and facetted hour markers hover above the pattern, keeping the drama tasteful and legible.

On the left, two independent balance wheels oscillate in opposite directions and sync through the patented Resonance Clutch. Twin seconds displays mirror their dialogue, while anthracite-coated bridges provide a restrained architectural backdrop. The 43 mm stainless steel case and grey Alcantara strap step back so the mechanics can speak first.

Inside, the in-house Calibre ARF21 integrates two complete, independent movements within a single calibre – each with its own barrel, gear train, escapement, and regulating organ. The coupling allows the balances to enter and maintain harmonic resonance, aiming at enhanced chronometric stability and improved rate consistency over time. A pusher at 2 o’clock resets both seconds hands to zero simultaneously, a tidy way to check that the duet is still in tune.

The movement runs at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour) with a 48-hour power reserve. Finishing is traditional and unshy about it – hand-polished bevels, frosted surfaces, perlage, circular graining, and black-polished screws. Flip it over and the main plate carries technical inscriptions in three-dimensional relief, rising from the surface rather than being engraved into it. As is the brand’s practice, each watch is assembled twice to secure mechanical precision and finishing quality.

Limited to 15 pieces worldwide. A small chorus, but well rehearsed.
