Mauron Musy has built a unique MU06 UniX for Watches for ELA, a one-off that treats light not as decoration but as message. In daylight, the dial is a deep blue gradient. In low light, the dial glows while a single word – “Hope” – stays dark, handwritten by Christophe Musy at 6 o’clock. It appears when the room grows quiet. A small theater of contrast, tastefully staged.
The cause deserves clarity. ELA supports families facing leukodystrophies and funds research into their genetic roots and potential therapies. Watches for ELA unites independent makers who contribute one-of-a-kind pieces to be auctioned, with proceeds supporting both daily assistance and long-term science.
The case is classic Mauron Musy engineering: 41 mm Grade 5 titanium, satin-brushed and polished, built in four segments and sealed by the patented nO-Ring technology. No gaskets, yet water resistance to 100 m. The sapphire front and back keep the mechanics honest and the finishing visible.
Inside, the in-house Calibre MM02 is a self-winding micro-rotor movement beating at 4 Hz. It uses 169 components and 27 jewels, winds bidirectionally, and holds a 40-hour reserve. It is not here to shout. It is here to work, and to be seen through a glareproofed caseback.
The dial is Super-LumiNova coated, then lacquered and polished for depth. At 12 sits the brand signature; at 6 the unlit “Hope” that emerges only as light fades. The effect is simple and eloquent. Nothing is printed for effect. Meaning comes from construction.
The watch is delivered with two straps and an 18 mm deployant clasp, easily swapped without tools. It is stamped “Swiss Crafted” and carries a five-year warranty. This pièce unique, reference MU06-115, will be offered at Christie’s Rare Watches on 09 November 2026 at 1:00 pm in Geneva.
Christophe Musy puts it plainly: “As watchmakers, we spend our lives measuring time. But some causes remind us that what truly matters is what we do with it.”
A good watch should reveal the mind of its maker. Here, the mind is disciplined, the message restrained, and the timing – fittingly – precise.
