H. Moser & Cie. steps into the digital realm with the Off-Grid, a watch that keeps its voice low and its intentions clear. It is neither a traditional mechanical nor a smartwatch in the usual sense. Instead, it chooses restraint – fewer distractions, purposeful functions, and design steeped in Moser’s Streamliner language.
The Off-Grid’s skeletonised dial frames a digital display, while a small domed fumé dial at 12 o’clock – Blackor or Red, with a transparent-lacquer logo – anchors it firmly in the Moser family. The steel case mixes white or black composite, measures 42.6 mm by 14.4 mm, and carries pushers at 2, 3 and 4, with an Off-Grid travel-mode pusher at 9. A slightly domed sapphire tops it, a sapphire back shows the hallmark, and water resistance is 12 ATM. Straps are integrated rubber, white or black, with matching PVD pin buckles.
Inside is the Calibre D10, developed with SEQUENT for H. Moser & Cie. Hours and minutes are shown with hands; the digital module handles the rest, with a display at 6. Accuracy is quoted at ±0.3 seconds per day and the movement counts 186 components. Power autonomy is measured in months, not days – from 12+ months in time-only to 3+ months with GMT, alarm for 30 days, and 4 hours of chronograph use. Connectivity is Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3, compatible with iOS and Android.
Functions are deliberately curated: hours and minutes; GMT with a country selector covering all time zones; a split-seconds chronograph displaying 1/100th of a second; perpetual calendar; perpetual moon phase updated hourly and programmed for the next 100 years; sunrise and sunset times to one minute thirty seconds, also set for a century; vibrating alarm; timer; and an Off-Grid mode with quick country selection and a 10-word dictionary in 21 languages. No avalanche of notifications, no data deluge – just tools you might actually use.
Two references launch the concept: 6DI0-1202 in steel with blue PVD, Blackor fumé dial, integrated white rubber strap, limited to 1000 pieces; and 6DI0-1205 in steel with black PVD, Red fumé dial, integrated black rubber strap, also 1000 pieces. Available only through H. Moser & Cie. boutiques and h-moser.com, it is first offered to existing clients from September 21 to 23, then to the wider Moser community from September 24, with this edition available until October 5.
Philosophically, the Off-Grid reads as Moser’s answer to digital excess: technology made discreet, framed by classical proportion and a familiar serenity. Less dashboard, more dial. A watch for those who prefer their smart features to whisper.
