Two disciplines, one habit of hard work. Girard-Perregaux and the Atlassian Williams F1 Team mark their new partnership with a duo of steel Laureatos: a time-only Laureato Williams Edition 42mm and a Laureato Chronograph Williams Edition 42mm. The connection is measured rather than shouted – think pit wall focus, not podium confetti.
Both watches keep the Laureato’s essentials intact: octagonal bezel, integrated bracelet, alternating polished and satin surfaces, sapphire crystals front and back, and 100 m water resistance. Williams cues are quiet but present – a discreet W at 12 o’clock and a metallised Williams emblem on the caseback. The dial is Williams blue with a “Clous de Paris” pattern, its red accents a nod to the team’s keyline. No winglets required on the lugs.
The three-hand Laureato Williams Edition uses the Manufacture calibre GP1800. It runs at 4 Hz, offers a minimum 54-hour reserve, and counts 191 components while driving hours, minutes, central seconds and date. The case is 42.0 mm by 10.68 mm in steel, with baton rhodium-plated hands and indexes treated with white-emission lume.
The Laureato Chronograph Williams Edition turns the motorsport link into function. Inside is the self-winding GP03300-2451, also 4 Hz, with 419 components, 63 jewels and a minimum 46-hour reserve, coordinating chronograph, small seconds, date, hours and minutes. The 904L steel case measures 42.0 mm by 12.16 mm; rhodium-plated rings frame the three counters for legibility, while a red-tipped central chronograph seconds and a red small seconds add a restrained spark.
Bracelets are steel with triple-folding clasps, maintaining the Laureato’s long-practiced rhythm of brushed planes and bright edges. Through the sapphire backs, both movements show the house grammar of finishing – Côtes de Genève, circular graining, bevelling, mirror polish, satin finishing, engraving, sunray finishing and snailing. The kind of work that rewards a loupe, not a billboard.
Laureato arrived in 1975; Williams entered F1 in 1977. Decades later, both remain studies in refinement over noise. These Williams Editions respect that lineage, folding team character into a design built to be worn, timed and quietly understood.
