NOMOS Tetra 27 - precision squared in two new guises

NOMOS Glashütte expands its square icon with two compact references: Tetra 27 white and Tetra 27 duo. Each measures 27.5 millimeters a side and is powered by hand-wound mechanics built in Glashütte. Proof that scale is a choice, not a compromise.

The case is slim stainless steel with delicately double-stepped lugs that nod to Art Deco. Both versions can be ordered with a sapphire crystal back for a clear view of the movement.

Tetra 27 duo pares time to its essentials. Two temperature-blued hands trace a white silver-plated dial, where a light gray square centers the layout and a matching gray field frames the minute track. Inside is the hand-wound caliber DUW 4001 duo with the NOMOS swing system and a power reserve of approximately 53 hours.

Tetra 27 white keeps the white silver-plated dial and blued hands, then adds an integrated sub-seconds display. The minute track plays with the idea of squaring the circle, punctuated by a dot at six o’clock.

These additions join a broader Tetra 27 family in stainless steel and 18-karat gold, with two or three hands and a choice of solid or sapphire backs. The intent is consistent across sizes at NOMOS: maintain proportion, keep the mechanics honest, and let the design do the speaking.

Tetra 27 also appears in the Twice Unique collection as made-to-order pairs in 18-karat gold and stainless steel across nine artistic designs. Pictured in the source is the Now edition, whose silky dials are produced by high-precision lapping.

On the wrist, the square form reads crisp and composed. The duo is a study in restraint. The white version adds a measured pulse with small seconds. Neither chases spectacle. Both show that fine watchmaking can be quietly exacting, even at 27.5 millimeters.
