Lorige BL-Evolution Competition – race-used brakes meet seven-day endurance

Lorige BL-Evolution Competition race-used brakes meet seven-day endurance

Lorige marks its role as Official Timekeeper of Inter Europol Competition with the BL-Evolution “Competition” – a 50-piece series that turns the team’s race-used Carbon/Carbon brake pads from the No. 43 and No. 343 LMP2 cars into watch cases and dials. It is a trophy you can wear, but also a study in material intent.

The monobloc Carbon/Carbon case measures 50 x 42 mm, paired with a satin-finished and polished grade 5 titanium bezel and case back. A matching titanium dynamometric crown with blue Neoralite inserts continues the motorsport brief, while yellow and green accents nod to Inter Europol Competition’s colors.

A gradient sapphire dial opens to a skeletonized upper bridge with hours, minutes, seconds, and power-reserve indications. A redesigned two-part seconds display takes center stage, its sunray brushing radiating from the small seconds. Rhodium-plated numerals receive Super-Luminova GL in recessed centers, with bold yellow Super-LumiNova on hands and indexes. Rhodium-plated rings with blue and black lacquer frame the indications.

Inside beats Lorige’s manually wound LOR-DB03. The double-barrel architecture delivers 168 hours of power – seven days of calm authority at 3 Hz. Despite 175 components and 29 jewels, the movement stands 3.98 mm thick and 31.10 mm across. Finishing follows a “Duo-Tone” scheme: microblasted and rhodium-plated surfaces, NAC-treated sunray brushing, and hand-executed chamfers. The case back continues the palette with circular satin and yellow lacquer details.

The strap is a two-part hybrid of rubber and technical fabric, echoing a racing harness. Lorige’s quick-release comes standard, and the grade 5 titanium folding clasp offers 6 mm of fine adjustment.

Context matters. Inter Europol Competition has built its name in endurance racing with LMP2 victories at Le Mans in 2023 and 2025, followed by a one-two in 2026. Turning spent brakes into a watch could have lapsed into gimmickry. Here, the Carbon/Carbon is not veneer but structure – case and dial – supported by a coherent, long-reserve caliber. The result feels purposeful rather than promotional.

The BL-Evolution “Competition” is limited to 50 pieces worldwide.
