Bianchet UltraFino Tonneau in Ceramic: Blue Depth, White Light

Bianchet brings ceramic to its UltraFino Tonneau, unveiling Deep Blue and White editions at Geneva Watch Days. The integrated ceramic bracelet follows the tonneau case in one continuous arc, a rare and disciplined use of a hard material more often kept to simple shapes.

The architecture is the point. Broad satin planes quiet the light; polished bevels sketch the edges; sand-blasted recesses add tone. Color is structural here. Deep Blue layers blue ceramic with black accents and a black PVD UT01. White flips the script, setting luminous ceramic against a cobalt blue PVD UT01, with cobalt dial details tying case to calibre.

Inside, the in-house UT01 remains the brand’s thesis on a modern tourbillon: automatic, ultra-thin at 3.85 mm, built in Grade 5 titanium, and protected to a stated 5,000 G. The flying tourbillon’s titanium cage rises just 2.66 mm. A central gold rotor, shaped by the Golden Ratio, keeps the 60-hour reserve topped up without thickening the stack.

Finishing is restrained but proper for titanium. Skeletonised bridges receive hand-bevels that catch and guide light, while the PVD tones deepen the architecture rather than hide it. It is a clean conversation between contemporary materials outside and classical handwork within.

On the wrist, proportions stay elegant at 40 mm wide, 47.5 mm lug to lug, and 8.9 mm thick. Water resistance is 5 ATM, honest for an ultra-thin tourbillon. The ceramic bracelet underscores the silhouette; a quick-release rubber strap is included in black for Deep Blue and cobalt for White, for days when you fancy less porcelain and more pace.

Price is 72,500 CHF before taxes. For a watch that treats ceramic not as gloss but as geometry, and a tourbillon not as theater but as structure, the intent is clear. Form leads, function follows, and the result feels thoughtfully inevitable.
